A rigorous, evidence-based professional training for practitioners who want to add Clinical EFT to their therapeutic toolkit — delivered under the Evidence Based EFT framework developed by Dr Peta Stapleton.
Spread across two weekends to avoid screen fatigue, aid integration, and give you your weekends back.
Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a structured, evidence-based intervention that combines gentle fingertip tapping on specific acupressure points with simultaneous verbal acknowledgement of emotional distress. Rooted in both cognitive and somatic traditions, it has been shown to rapidly reduce the intensity of distressing thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.
With over 100 peer-reviewed studies published in clinical and psychology journals, Clinical EFT is among the most researched interventions in the energy psychology field — with demonstrated effectiveness for anxiety, PTSD, depression, chronic pain, food cravings, and more.
Clients often experience measurable shifts within a single session — reducing the intensity of distressing memories, anxiety, or physical pain in ways that talk therapy alone may take much longer to achieve.
EFT is a skill clients can learn and use independently between sessions, building genuine self-regulation capacity rather than fostering reliance on the practitioner.
From performance anxiety to complex trauma, food issues to chronic pain — EFT translates across a wide range of presenting concerns and client populations.
A growing body of RCTs and outcome studies means you can discuss EFT with colleagues, referrers, and clients from a grounded, research-informed position.

Evidence Based EFT is the training and certification framework developed by Dr Peta Stapleton, Associate Professor at Bond University and one of the world's leading researchers in Clinical EFT. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, featured in major media outlets globally, and translated into evidence-based training programs used by thousands of practitioners worldwide.
Choosing to train under the Evidence Based EFT umbrella means your learning is grounded in the latest clinical research, aligned with internationally recognised standards, and delivered by trainers who have been thoroughly prepared in both the practice and the science.
A comprehensive curriculum covering the full scope of Clinical EFT practice

"Mitch created a beautifully safe and structured learning environment. I came in sceptical about EFT and left with a completely new lens for working with clients dealing with anxiety and chronic stress."
"The training was rigorous, evidence-based, and deeply practical. I appreciated how Mitch grounded everything in the research and made complex concepts accessible. I use EFT with almost every client now."
"I'd done shorter EFT workshops before, but this was a different level entirely. The depth of content, the live practice sessions, and Mitch's calm guidance made it transformative for my practice."

No — Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a completely different modality. It involves gentle tapping on acupressure points while verbally acknowledging emotional distress. It's often confused with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr Sue Johnson, which is a couples therapy approach. Clinical EFT draws on both cognitive and somatic traditions and has its own growing body of peer-reviewed research.
Yes. Clinical EFT is one of the most researched energy psychology modalities. Over 100 randomised controlled trials and outcome studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals, covering anxiety, PTSD, depression, pain, and more. The training draws directly on this research base.
Absolutely. This training is designed with licensed practitioners in mind. The curriculum treats EFT as a clinical tool to be integrated thoughtfully into existing professional frameworks — not a stand-alone alternative to your existing qualifications.
The live training runs across four days over two weekends: Fridays 11th & 18th September 2026 (9:00am–4:30pm BST) and Saturdays 12th & 19th September 2026 (9:00am–1:30pm BST) — a total of 24 class hours. We deliberately chose this format to avoid "zoom fatigue" and to aid in integration. Feedback has consistently shown that this structure helps participants learn at a deeper level, with time between weekends to absorb and practise — and you still get to keep your weekends. Recordings are available for 30 days post-training.
Yes. Further accreditation is available through an Evidence Based EFT Partner. Full information on the pathway and how to pursue it will be given during the training.
Yes — and that's one of the strengths of Clinical EFT. It complements CBT, ACT, somatic therapies, EMDR, and many other modalities. The training will support you in thinking through where and how EFT fits within your existing practice.
No. While participants will experience EFT personally throughout the training (which is essential for ethical practice), this is a professional training focused on clinical application with clients. It is not a general self-help program.
EFT HQ is an online learning platform founded by Dr Peta Stapleton — the world-leading researcher and clinician under whose framework this training is delivered. The bonus 30-day access gives you supplementary resources, recorded sessions, and community support to deepen your learning after the live training.
